Baños Finisterre

Banos Finisterre is one of Mexico City’s few remaining bathhouses, located in the city’s center historic neighborhood of San Rafael, on the renowned Paseo de la Reforma.

Banos Finisterre’s physical space consists of a lobby, individual steam rooms, and a ‘common steam’ area, which contains a number of tiny private rooms, toilets, four distinct steam rooms with both wet and dry saunas, collective showers, and a recently installed whirlpool.

Banos Finisterre is one of these sites where sexual activities are permitted in most areas with the complete consent of the personnel. The interior layout of areas, as well as their furnishings and utilization of light, sound, and steam, all contribute to and promote Banos Finisterre’s queer dynamics.

The shower area is the largest room and connects to the fourth steam room, which leads to further private rooms.
