Jolene’s Bar & Restaurant is a gay establishment located close to the Castro district of San Francisco.
Jolene’s hosts events like Burlesque Brunch, where there are drag acts, talent shows and burlesque shows.
Their weekend brunch offerings include the required touchstones: There’s gluten-free fried chicken and waffles, a chia-coconut-acai bowl. On a recent Sunday afternoon, smoky Bloody Marys and bottomless mimosas top nearly every table.
On this particular Sunday, there is also a completely nude man doing cartwheels and gyrating across the main floor of the club to thumping R&B music while wearing a jock strap, all the while maintaining a flashing LED Hula-Hoop whirling around different appendages.
Not simply because the open front door is at a 45-degree angle and the floor is very hard concrete, but also because it’s a striking sight to witness.
