A staple among the LGBT crowd in Houston, JR’s Bar & Grill has been one of Houston’s top gay bars for more than three decades. Located next to the dance club Southbeach, Jr’s offers a more relaxing atmosphere.
This large pub has a welcoming seating space, various bars, a stage, pool table, and video screens, all of which are decorated in a casual wood style. It also has a courtyard terrace. Outside, there is a sizable terrace as well.
Regular customers are kept coming back week after week by weekly drag performances, karaoke evenings, and drink discounts. Go-go dancers and amiable bartenders keep the vibe lively all night.
The terrace is a terrific spot to see the normal Friday or Saturday night activity on Cedar Springs as people visit various neighboring clubs, pubs, and eateries.
