Kingston Dub Club is the weekly high point of Kingston’s roots reggae revival sessions. The location is located in the hills above Kingston and provides a magnificent view of the city. It is actually Gabre Selassie’s residence, the owner and operator of Rockers Sound Station. It contains an intimate yard with a wall of speakers and a DJ booth, as well as a big deck bar in the back.
Gabre Selassie will be spinning 100% Roots / Rockers / Reggae & Dub from the Highest Regions, as mentioned on the Kingston Dub Club posters and Facebook page. Gabre invites worldwide guest selectors and musicians on a regular basis. Even if they aren’t playing, you’re likely to encounter some of your favorite reggae singers holding a vibe in a corner.
The audience is multicultural and worldwide. This is where you may meet visiting reggae aficionados from all over the world. To genuinely chat with someone, you’d have to walk to the deck, where you can hear the music while simultaneously conversing. But there is of course no need to do this because you can just relax and enjoy the mesmirizing dub music.
