The Purple Pig advertised itself as a salumeria/charcuterie expert, and they do so admirably, yet their whole menu of tapas-style small meals from across the Mediterranean intended for sharing is eclectic and wonderful. It’s a pleasure to encounter a menu in a pizza-soaked neighborhood known for catering to children and visitors that doesn’t hold back – their fresh sardines and morcilla are two must-try selections.
The wine selection focuses on the Mediterranean, with a “something for everyone” atmosphere. They serve half- and full-glasses, with a glass-pour menu that is obviously intended for menu matching and exploration, and a large bottle selection with reasonable prices and a delightful variety.
